The PHC’s programme was set up to develop a reciprocal way of working between the GP practice and its patients. Their focus is supporting the health and wellbeing of the practice community through community engagement and delivery of activities which support self care, long term conditions and other priorities identified by the practice. This group have run a number of Health promotional stands in our waiting area including self care, men’s health & chlamydia awareness. They also helped devise the Patient Survey and were involved in the action plan once results were gathered.
The Experts by Experience Group is broadly representative of Bevan Healthcare’s service users. It is a small group of volunteers which includes people who have had experience of homelessness and people who have come to Bradford as asylum seekers or refugees. It meets every 8 weeks and aims to offer a service user perspective on all aspects of homeless and asylum healthcare provision.
